Care & Maintenance

Horisaki hats are made to be worn and will last over time, both in design and craftsmanship.

With proper care, your hat will age gracefully, developing a unique patina as time, wear, and nature leave their mark. Its evolving texture and color will only enhance its character, making it even more distinctive and full of personality.

Water Resistance & Protection – All our hats handle moisture well and are pre-treated with waterproofing spray to enhance their durability. However, to maintain the hat's protective properties, the waterproofing treatment should be reapplied regularly. Always ensure the hat is completely dry before reapplying the treatment. Regular use of waterproofing spray will help extend the life of your hat, protecting it from rain and moisture.

Restore / Reshape – If your hat gets wet, make sure to dry it in the shape you want to preserve. To restore your hat’s shape, use a steamer or a pot of boiling water. Steam from the inside and gently mold it with your hands to return it to its original form. Allow it to cool in the desired shape to maintain its structure.

Storage – Keep your hat in a cool, dry place to preserve its shape. Storing it in a dark environment can also help maintain and restore its colors over time.

Dust & Dirt – Use a soft hat brush to gently remove dust and dirt from the surface of your hat.

Lint, Hair, or Debris – For quick removal of lint, hair, or small debris, use a lint roller or wrap a piece of tape (sticky side out) around your hand. Gently sweep and dab the surface of the hat.

Stains – To treat stains, use a gum eraser or a clean makeup sponge. Gently dab the stain or smudge to lift it. For mild stains, a wet wipe can be used—rub the stain gently and let it air dry.

Clean the Sweatband – If air drying doesn’t freshen up the sweatband, you can wash it. Be sure to avoid water contact with areas other than the sweatband. Use a toothbrush, water, and a mild soap to gently scrub the sweatband. Carefully rinse and blot the hat dry.

Repairs & Renovations – Horisaki hats are built to last. If fraying or distressing occurs, it is often intentional. However, if you require renovation, repair, or adjustments, we are happy to assist. Contact us for inquiries.
