Size Guide
ONE SIZE HATS ARE MADE TO COMFORTABLY FIT XS TO L -

To find your hat size, wrap a soft measuring tape around your head at the spot where you’d like the hat to sit—snug but not tight. Make sure the tape lies flat and level all the way around.
If your measurement falls between sizes, we recommend sizing up for the best fit.

Toquilla straw material information
Our toquilla hats are crafted from the finest Toquilla straw, also known as Panama straw—prized for its lightness, durability, and timeless appeal. This natural fiber comes from the Carludovica palmata plant, grown and harvested in Ecuador. Skilled artisans hand-crochet or hand weave the raw straw using time-honored techniques, creating a material that reflects both exceptional craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
Once in our atelier, we shape and finish each hat by hand. The straw is pre-washed to soften the fibers while preserving its structure, ensuring a comfortable fit from the start. We then hand-dye every piece using carefully selected pigments to achieve the organic textures and subtle, distressed tones that define our aesthetic. This process allows the color to evolve over time, developing a rich patina that enhances the material’s natural beauty.
The combination of traditional craftsmanship and our in-house finishing methods ensures that no two hats are ever exactly alike. Each piece carries its own unique character—shaped by the hands that craft it and the organic nature of the materials.
At Horisaki Design & Handel, we are committed to preserving the artistry behind every stage of our process, from the work of Ecuadorian artisans to the careful finishing in our studio. For any further questions or additional details, please feel free to reach out.
