Size Guide
ONE SIZE HATS ARE MADE TO COMFORTABLY FIT XS TO L -

To find your hat size, wrap a soft measuring tape around your head at the spot where you’d like the hat to sit—snug but not tight. Make sure the tape lies flat and level all the way around.
If your measurement falls between sizes, we recommend sizing up for the best fit.

Easy Burnt / Hard Burnt
Easy burnt
The easy burnt patination process is used to remove woolly fibers from the surface, resulting in a smoother, softer texture. This treatment refines the material while maintaining its flexibility, making the hat easier to handle and wear.
Each hat is carefully finished by hand, allowing for subtle variations in tone and texture that highlight the natural qualities of the material.
Hard Burnt
Some of our hats undergo a hard burnt patination process, giving the surface a leather-like texture with rich, organic variations. This treatment enhances the material’s depth and character, creating a finish that evolves over time.
Due to the nature of the hard burnt patina, the material may dry and/or wet bleed. This finish also makes the hats less suitable for folding, as the surface is more rigid compared to untreated styles.
Each piece is carefully hand-finished, resulting in subtle differences that make every hat unique.
Rabbit felt material information
Rabbit fur has long been valued for its fine, soft texture, making it an ideal material for producing high-quality felt, especially in hat-making. We work exclusively with 100% rabbit felt, sourced as a byproduct, ensuring that materials are used thoughtfully and with minimal waste.
We collaborate with TONAK, one of the world’s oldest and most respected felt manufacturers, located in the Czech Republic. With a heritage dating back to 1799, TONAK is renowned for its dedication to traditional craftsmanship and high production standards. This partnership allows us to work with materials of exceptional quality while maintaining transparency and ethical sourcing practices.
The felting process at TONAK involves compressing and treating animal fibers with heat, moisture, and pressure—a time-honored technique refined over centuries. This careful process produces a durable, smooth felt that balances functionality with a refined, natural texture.
At Horisaki Design & Handel, we are committed to using materials that reflect our values of quality, craftsmanship, and respect for tradition. For any further questions or additional details, please feel free to reach out.
